About Me

Hi. I’m Kelly Dun.

I’m a fussy developer. Really. Making things right is a time consuming process. But it’s the way I like to work.

I’m a 31-year-old software engineer with a diverse set of interests that I love to pursue. My interests involve cooking up new ideas, gaming, attending anime conventions, reading manga, trading stocks and financial futures, writing my hopefully-will-be-complete-before-I-die light novel, exercising hard, and programming (of course!).

I’ve been programming since I was around 14 years old and building my own computers since around that time as well. Needless to say, I like computers. I even got two degrees from the University of California, Davis. One is a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering and the other is a Master of Science in Computer Science.

For the past 6 years or so I’ve been involved with developing mobile biometric devices. You’re probably wondering, “What’s that?” Think of them as big cameras that can capture a person’s biometric data like irises, finger prints, and face, and search against the onboard database to see if you’re a bad guy or not. Trust me. It’s neat. Before that I was your typical college student doing research and teaching assistant stuff. Oh and I also interned at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory writing an application for the Palm OS.

I also have a LinkedIn account at http://www.linkedin.com/in/kellydun which will have more detailed information on my professional career.
